Pregnant with a Toddler: Navigating the Journey

When I was pregnant with my second child, it was a time of mixed emotions. Having experienced a miscarriage the year before, I felt much more anxious than I had anticipated.

This pregnancy happened during lockdown which in itself did create a sense of isolation. I really wanted to connect with other pregnant mums but it wasn’t really possible so I turned inward and focused on my spiritual journey. Before conceiving, I had completed my Reiki Level 2 training and used a specific technique to call in my next pregnancy. Just two weeks later, I was pregnant with Talia! Throughout the pregnancy, I practiced Reiki on myself and Talia, which helped me feel deeply connected to her.

I also revisited hypnobirthing, this time with my best friend, a hypnobirthing expert and doula. She was pregnant too, which made the experience even more meaningful. The techniques gave me confidence, clarity, and a sense of calm that set the stage for an amazing water birth experience. It was everything I had hoped for. It was calm, empowering and deeply connected.

Navigating pregnancy during lockdown had its challenges, especially with a toddler at home. Breastfeeding on friends’ doorsteps during snowy walks wasn’t what I had imagined for my maternity leave!

At the same time, lockdown gave me the gift of slowing down. With nurseries still open, we sent our 2.5 year-old, Ella, to nursery, allowing me to focus on bonding with Talia, breastfeeding, and creating an amazing nap routine so I could nap too.

Being pregnant while caring for a toddler is a unique and transformative journey, filled with its own mix of challenges and rewards. My experience taught me the importance of slowing down, connecting with my body, and making space to bond with my baby while navigating the needs of an older child.

    Pregnancy Circles provide a calming and supportive space to connect with yourself, your baby, and other mums-to-be. Through sharing, guided meditation, and soothing sound therapy, you'll feel grounded, relaxed, and empowered as you prepare for birth. These sessions offer connection, reflection, and a moment of peace during your pregnancy journey.

    They take place once a month in North London at Moon.

  • Online Coaching and Reiki

    My online coaching and distant Reiki sessions are designed to support you through the emotional and physical transformations of pregnancy, no matter where you are. Through gentle guidance, we’ll explore tools like mindfulness, breathwork, and affirmations to help you feel calm, confident, and connected to yourself and your baby.

    Distant Reiki offers a deeply relaxing and healing experience, balancing your energy and releasing stress to promote overall well-being for both you and your baby.
